The food served during the event was fantastic, and the staff handling it were very professional. the restaurant experience was disappointing due to a mishap with my meal order. it was a pleasant stay, but there's some room for improvement.

I truly loved the afternoon tea here—it was a delightful treat for my mother's birthday! Freshly baked scones and exquisite pastries made the experience memorable. Just wish the bathroom could use a little modernizing. 😊

easy access to parks and local attractions for weekend walks

I really appreciated how easy it was to stroll to lovely parks like oaklands park, just under 2 km away, and enjoy landmarks like the chelmsford cathedral, which was only a short walk of about 500 meters from my room, making my weekend getaway all the more enjoyable. the overall experience felt friendly and welcoming with clean accommodations, but the room could use a bit more character to enhance the atmosphere.

Just a proper fit for a flying visit in Chelmsford with good price value. The food was excellent, and breakfast staff really lovely. If you're around lunchtime, be aware of limited dining options.

had such a nice stay at the county hotel. the location was perfect, right in the heart of chelmsford, and it was close to everything we needed for our party in writtle. breakfast was lovely too, loads of options and the staff were super helpful when i had questions before we got there. shout out to yulia for being really responsive! our room was comfy with a fan, iron, and hairdryer, which was great.

the only downsides were that the bathroom could've used a little more updating and there was no complimentary water in the room.
